I just thought this quote was kind of interesting. I obviously don’t use LinkedIn since I’m not a working professional or don’t own a business, but it’s kind of funny how people differentiate between different social media sources. Most people use Facebook for more than just people they used to know, but that has definitely become a huge part of it; (I know plenty of people who have looked up people they used to go to school with, or met at a camp however many years ago). And with Twitter, I think it’s pretty true that we use it to get to know people. Twitter allows us to see what people are doing or what they are thinking at essentially any time of day, allowing one to get a sense of who they are as a person (at least most of the time). I can’t really say I’ve ever looked up anyone on Twitter that I used to know but don’t really talk to anymore, which is much more common on Facebook. Twitter is more for who I know now, or would like to get to know, which, for me, is the same way I use Facebook.
